Youth Council

MoE Youth Council

In line with the UAE Government’s interest in the youth, the Ministry of Education has established a Youth Council, which consists of 15 young men and women from various departments of the Ministry. The Youth Council intends to provide a platform for young people, ensuring that their voice is heard and engaging them in decision-making that will help to develop and improve the educational process, providing a safe and supportive environment for young people.

The MoE’s Youth Council aims to:

• Achieve the directions and plans entrusted to the Youth Council as stipulated in the Youth Empowerment Guidelines approved by the Federal Youth Authority.
• Enhance the exchange of experiences and establish partnerships between the Youth Council and the local and international youth authorities.
• Provide a supportive environment for innovations of youth at the MoE.
• Activate the role of youth in the MoE and engage them in decision-making processes at the MoE.
• Ensure the effective inter-ministry resource sharing and efficient communication channels in relation to youth policies and programs.
• Develop leadership skills and capabilities of young people working towards achieving the UAE Centennial Plan 2071.
• Enhance the significance of talented youth empowerment and development and establish the values that are aligned with the MoE.
• Develop initiatives and projects related to the youth interests at the MoE.

Functions of the Youth Council:

• Submit quarterly achievement reports on the initiatives that have been implemented.
• Implement youth activities in cooperation with federal and private sector entities.
• Coordinate with the Strategy and Future Department to ensure the alignment of the Council's plan.
• Provide consultations and raise awareness of the MoE’s competencies while focusing on the youth.
• Establish a link between the Youth Council and students on scholarships abroad.
• Develop an annual action plan for the Youth Council with an approved timeframe for implementation.
• Implement youth activities and initiatives that target the MoE’s youth.
• Engage the youth in studies that are based on surveys and levels of satisfaction.
