Ministry of Education Organizes Seminar to Establish Specialized Criteria for Accreditation of Prior Learning and Micro-certifications

The Ministry of Education, in cooperation with the National Qualification Centre, organized a seminar entitled "Accreditation of Prior Learning and Micro-certifications", hosted by the United Arab Emirates University in Al Ain, with the aim of increasing learning opportunities and keeping pace with the rapid changes in the field of higher education by laying the foundation for specialized standards in the field of accreditation of prior learning and micro-certifications.

The Ministry's Commission for Academic Accreditation supervised the event to support the national efforts aiming to establish the foundations for the accreditation of prior learning and micro-certifications, as well as encouraging higher education institutions to adopt prior learning and micro-certifications within their programs.

The opening speeches were delivered by His Excellency Prof. Ghaleb Ali AlHadrami AlBreiki, Director of the United Arab Emirates University in Al Ain, and His Excellency Prof. Mohamed Yousif Baniyas, Director of the Commission for Academic Accreditation at the Ministry of Education. The seminar also featured speakers who are experts in the field.

The event was attended by 160 participants representing licensed higher education institutions in the country and quality assurance officials, in addition to representatives of the Department of Education and Knowledge in Abu Dhabi, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai, and the entities licensed by the National Qualification Centre in the country.
