The higher
committee of the Mohamed Bin Zayed Award for Best GCC Teacher has announced the
winners of the first edition of the award, which was launched under the directives
and kind patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu
Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to
cover a number of GCC countries.

This
came during a press conference held yesterday at the headquarters of the award
in Abu Dhabi in the presence of HE Hussain Bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of
Education, who is the general supervisor of the award, and higher committee members.
The winners were Rashid Ali Hashem, a physical education teacher
from the UAE, and Fawzia Dhuwaiher Al Maghamsi, a mathematics teacher from
Saudi Arabia. Each received AED1 million in recognition of their excellent
efforts in applying all the criteria of the award on the way to educational
leadership and also their initiatives, which helped develop the educational
environment and were considered one of the value-added practices.
The top 20 male and female teachers participating in the award were
also offered training courses as part of a trip to the world's most prestigious
foundations and think tanks.

In addition, two teachers, Heba Abdul Aziz Salmeen from Kuwait and
Amina Nabeel Al Rumaihi from Bahrain, were honoured for their excellence and
received AED100,000 each.
During
the conference, the committee announced the launch of the second edition of the
award, which started from November 6 and would continue till March 3, 2019.

Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed congratulated both winners Rashid Ali Hashem from the
UAE and Fawzia Dhuwaiher Al Maghamsi from Saudi Arabia for winning the Mohamed
Bin Zayed Award for Best GCC Teacher.
