The Ministry of Education
(MoE) has announced that connecting the school professions license system with
the Emirates ID for educational staff has been extended until October 18th as
part of a step by the MoE to facilitate the registration of teachers in the
specialized and professional tests and ensure data of applicants is verified as
part of issuing licenses. Early last month, the MoE called on school
administrations to facilitate the completion of the connection by appointing
co-ordinators to complete the teachers’ procedures easily and smoothly.
The MoE indicated that the
procedure for linking the school professions license system with the Emirates
ID aims at facilitating the registration of teachers in the professional
licensing system and easing contact with them to perform the tests at the
specified times set by the MoE, thereby helping the educational staff obtain
the teacher’s license.
The MoE stressed again the
importance for teachers to obtain a teacher’s license, which is considered as a
condition for practicing the teaching profession due to its role in developing
and improving the outputs of quality education and upgrading the competencies
of those working in the educational sector based on global best practices.
The professional licensing
process targets teachers, school leaders and those engaged in other school
professions on several different stages. Passing the tests assigned to each
category and applying for equivalency or attestation of academic qualifications
is one of the requirements needed for obtaining an approved professional
license.
Meanwhile, the MoE announced the dates for the
teacher’s license exams during the current month of October. The exams will be
held on October 10th and 17th and registration for them has already been
closed. Next month’s exams will be held on November 14th and 28th, the MoE said.
