UAE Ministry of Education & public schools observe Commemoration Day amid overwhelming feeling of pride

In line with the directives of the UAE’s wise leadership to observe November 30 every year as Commemoration Day, the Ministry of Education and all schools under its purview celebrated the day remembering the nation’s martyrs. Schools organised various events and activities, including banner and drawing competitions that showcased the martyrs’ characteristics and story narration about the heroic deeds of the UAE’s soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the safety and security of the country. In addition, the UAE flag was hoisted at the Ministry of Education’s premises as well as in schools to demonstrate the pride and dignity felt by every citizen and resident on the Commemoration Day.
H.E. Marwan Ahmad Al Sawaleh, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, senior officials from the Ministry, and educational leaders, participated in the Flag Hoisting Ceremony to salute at the National Flag. Students and other attendees repeated the pledge of allegiance with utmost sincerity in the honour of the sacrifices made by the country’s soldiers. Lastly, they recited Al Fataha for the soul of the UAE martyrs.
The Undersecretary said that the Ministry of Education observes Commemoration Day in remembrance of the fallen soldiers as the finest example of humanity who sacrificed their lives to preserve what is right and defend the oppressed. He stated that they have gathered to pay tribute to the UAE martyrs and pray for their heroism.
H.E. Al Sawaleh added that martyrs’ souls will be immortalised in the consciousness of UAE citizens who are ready to protect their homeland when the need arises. He reiterated that its people have shown the highest sense of solidarity, loyalty and belonging for their country and leadership at time of hardships. He said that martyrs were like a flood, affirming their allegiance to the UAE and its leadership whose foundation was established by the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and is deeply rooted in UAE citizens.
The Undersecretary described the martyrs as the ‘Guardians of the UAE’ and said that their sacrifices will be instilled in the consciousness of every citizen. He added that the nation lead by its visionary leaders is like an impenetrable fortress against the vicious and that its people are ready to sacrifice their souls for their homeland.
H.E. Al Sawaleh commended the UAE leaders’ roles in establishing national unity during the period of crisis for the region which is reflected in their interaction with citizens. This demonstrates how the nation’s march towards development is backed by future generations who are proud of their national identity, homeland and leadership and who will tread on the right path to continue the journey to success.
The Undersecretary concluded that the schools truly reflected their sentiments on Commemoration Day, noting that students were overwhelmed with feelings and expressed words of praise for the martyr’ heroic deeds. Talking about the role of the martyr, he said that their sacrifices have protected the nation from the hostility of aggressors. He pointed out that the Ministry of Education is keen to instil the genuine values of patriotism in students and will help to raise awareness either through the school curricula or the narration of moral lessons through various programs and activities.
