The Ministry of Education (MoE) has signed several agreements with a number of the country's universities to offer scholarships to international students. The step comes as part of supporting and strengthening strategic partnership relations with all the institutions in the country, in order to achieve the strategy and vision of the UAE in which education is the most important axis and pillar.
Within the active contribution of the MoE in supporting dialogue and discussion in the country and under the remit of the "Study in UAE" Initiative, the MoE signed several agreements with a number of leading universities in the country to offer scholarships to distinguished international students from various countries of the world.
The signing of this first batch of agreements achieves the education strategy in the UAE, launched by the MoE, which aims to make the country a destination for science; an edifice of excellence; a source of inspiration for progress and leadership; and for excellent, creative students from all countries of the world to flock to it.
The MoE is expected to sign in the coming period further agreements with other institutions, in response to the initiative and to provide more qualitative scholarships.
H.E. Dr. Mohammad Ibrahim Al-Mualla, the Undersecretary for Higher Education Academic Affairs, said, "The presence of international students has become one of the important and fundamental aspects in the process of classifying higher education institutions and competing globally. The MoE, therefore, seeks, in cooperation with higher education institutions, to support this trend, with the aim of pushing the higher education institutions in the country to the best stature in accordance with international standards. At the same time, the UAE is seeking to be supportive of the various brotherly and friendly countries in various fields, especially education, exactly as its founder, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may he rest in peace, always wanted it to be. This initiative is a part and a consolidation of several initiatives in this field, through which the UAE seeks to convey its message to the world."
