The Ministry of
Education launched the third round of “our Ambassadors program” 2018, which
targets 1080 students from public education schools, universities and teachers.
This took place during a meeting organized by the Ministry recently at the
Higher Colleges of Technology for students in Dubai to introduce the program,
in the presence of HE Jameela Al Muhairi, Minister of
State for Public Education and HE Dr. Amna Al
Dahhak Al Shamsi, the Ministry’s assistant
undersecretary for the welfare and activities sector, and a number of educational leaders, parents and targeted
students.
During the current round of the program, the Ministry has
developed four innovative programs, which are: Ambassadors of Diplomacy, Sports
Excellence, Masterpieces, and Higher Education Ambassadors Program, which
targets university students. This is in addition to the previous four core
programs, which are: Ambassadors for the Future, Innovation
and Giving and the Education Ambassadors Program, which targets teachers. Members
of the eight programs will be traveling to the following 10 world destinations;
USA, Switzerland, Tanzania, Singapore, United Kingdom, Denmark, Ireland,
Portugal, Spain and Canada. The students will visit community service locations
in those countries, each according to the program involved, as well as identify
the best universities and specialized research institutes.
1080 male and female students
participate in “our Ambassadors” program 2018, with 200 students participating
in the Future Ambassadors program, while 300 students are participating in the
Ambassadors of Innovation Program, and 120 students are participating in the
Ambassadors of Giving Program. On the other hand, 144 teachers are participating
in the Ambassadors of Education program, and 50
students are participating in the Diplomatic Ambassadors Program, and 80
students are participating in the Ambassadors of Sports Excellence. As for the
Ambassadors of Masterpieces, 60 students are participating, and 126 students
are participating in Ambassadors for Higher Education.
HE Jameela Al Muhairi, Minister of
State for Public Education stressed that “Our
Ambassadors” Program is an inspirational journey that creates the awareness of
the students about knowledge and carries with it a great deal of importance and
responsibility as the Ministry relies on the students involved in the program
to achieve excellence and leadership in all areas of future knowledge.
She called on
students to transfer their experiences and what they will gain during their
journey to the rest of their peers and colleagues in schools. She stressed the
need for each student to define his/her goals and maintain perseverance to
achieve them as “Our Ambassadors” Program provides them
with this opportunity through contact with the finest experiences, institutes
and universities during their trip. She urged the students to do their utmost
to achieve the objectives of the program that will greatly benefit them and the
society at large.
