The Expo 2020 Dubai and the Ministry of Education (MoE) have announced a joint project for volunteers to enable school students to participate in the program. They also stressed the need to intensify efforts with the Expo School Program and underlined the importance for school students to visit the Expo 2020.

This was announced as HE Reem Bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Co-operation and Director General of Dubai Expo 2020 Bureau, met with HE Jameela Bint Salem Al Muhairi, Minister of State for Public Education, at Expo 2020 Dubai headquarters yesterday. Regular meetings are being held by the MoE and the Expo School Program to unify visions, co-operate, co-ordinate operational logistics and facilitate visits of all UAE school students to Expo 2020 for edutainment purposes during the upcoming international Expo.

Al Muhairi expressed her happiness about this visit, which came to document more co-operation and fruitful work between the two parties for the benefit and progress of the homeland. She announced that she had joined the Expo School Program as a volunteer together with 3,000 MoE staff members, who expressed a strong desire to join the program as a step through which the MoE seeks to support this national event that would require concerted efforts and teamwork.
During the meeting, Al Muhairi underscored the MoE's commitment and keenness on supporting the Expo School Program, which underlines the importance of creating an optimal interactive environment with the school community through mobilizing educational energies and efforts and adopting modern and innovative patterns of purposeful activities that target school students by engaging them in the 2020 event and motivating them to leave an impressive imprint.

"Expo is a global event and we look forward to achieving many gains by holding the event in the UAE. Apart of its importance at the economic level, the event is an opportunity not only to introduce the UAE's identity and achievements but also to highlight the UAE's cultural role in the region and the world as well as its humanitarian mission, its cultural and scientific position and its tireless efforts to provide a competitive education system for advancing the generations and building the homeland", she said.

Hosting this event is a source of pride to the UAE and evidence that the world trusts this country, which is great in terms of its leadership and people and has become a gathering place for co-existence, human dialogue and tolerance, considering that around 200 nationalities are living peacefully and respectfully in it, she said.
Meanwhile, Al Hashemi said: "We welcomed today HE Jameela Al Muhairi, who visited us to reaffirm the support of all UAE institutions to this national project. While Expo and the MoE are actually co-operating through the Expo's school concerned programs and activities, the MoE's announcement about volunteering in Expo 2020 Dubai would attract the largest number of students, who will benefit from this unique experience to develop their knowledge in the fields of science, culture and innovation."
Later, Al Muhairi toured the Expo 2020 Dubai Visitor Center and the site of the event where she listened to an explanation from the people in charge of some Expo 2020 Dubai activities and programs such as the Expo School Program, which demonstrated the students' visits to Expo during the global event.
Earlier, the MoE organized more than 40 workshops for over 3,500 teachers and school personnel to expand the impact of the Expo School Program. In addition, the Expo School Program's team is organizing visits designed specifically for students of all academic levels and age categories as per pre-set educational goals.
More than 30,000 volunteers will participate in Expo 2020 Dubai to represent the UAE culture and its inherent values. They will also play a pivotal role in managing the large number of fun events, exciting activities and extensive dialogues to be held daily during this huge event.
