Ministry of Education signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoM) with the
Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of
Serbia, which is aimed establishing cooperation between the two sides in the
fields of higher education and scientific research. The memorandum was signed
in the Ministry's main Office in Abu Dhabi by His Excellency Hussain Al
Hammadi, Minister of Education and His Excellency Mladen Cherchevich, the
Serbian Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development.

This
comes within the framework of the Ministry’s keenness to learn about the best
international practices in the field of higher education in order to equip
national higher education institutions with the best experiences and
information, and enable them to benefit from the pioneering experiences in
supporting and developing higher education. The MoM also aims at opening the
horizons of knowledge and cultural communication between the two countries and
enhancing joint cooperation in scientific, academic and research fields.

According
to the MoM, the two sides will establish direct relations between the higher
education institutions in both countries and support conducting joint research
in agreed upon fields, and that they will invite specialists to attend
conferences and symposia to be held in their respective countries for exchanging
education best practices in both countries.
Also,
that the two sides shall provide annual scholarships to nationals of the two
countries to study in their respective universities in accordance with their
national legislations. In addition, they will exchange best practices, and
cooperate in the organization and implementation of special courses for
teaching Serbian and Arabic languages in their respective higher education
institutions.

The
two parties shall exchange information related to their respective national
legislations in education, as well as applicable standards for the
accreditation of educational institutions and programs with the aim of
achieving mutual recognition of practical degrees, academic titles and
certificates of higher education according to the system followed by each
country. They will work on exchanging joint delegations at the level of the educational
departments and educational institutions staff, in order for them to be
acquainted with the developments and modernization of educational systems and
to share best practices.
