Hussain Al Hammadi: ‘Afkari initiative supports governmental development purposes’
H.E. Hussain Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, said that ‘Afkari,’ the new initiative launched by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to support and fund the creative ideas of government employees will contribute to the further development of various ministries and public institutions in the country. He said that Afkari is a new means to encourage innovative and creative ideas among employees to help further reinforce their respective sectors.
H.E. said the move demonstrates the UAE leaders’ commitment to make innovation and creation part of a well-established strategy by providing all necessary support to creative staff members and establish an atmosphere where they can think in a critical, constructive and positive way. Additionally, the initiative also includes the establishment of a fund to finance creative ideas and transform them into applicable concrete projects.
The Minister added that Afkari was developed after a thorough study and reflects a vision of further development and modernization, which will create unique opportunities and unleash the capabilities and talents of all individuals of different fields. He emphasized that making a difference in one’s field lies on an individual’s ability to produce fresh ideas and modern innovations to achieve success and bring prosperity.
H.E. Al Hammadi reiterated the Ministry of Education’s continued support to the initiative by encouraging its staff to work hard and with dedication. The Ministry regularly holds brainstorming sessions to come up with modern ideas aimed at enhancing all areas of the education system and learning processes. The education sector’s prominent and comprehensive role is reflected in various key initiatives and recently approved projects. The Ministry empowers all its employees to take part in the decision making processes by encouraging them to pitch in their ideas, opinions and proposals.
