Abdulrahman Al-Hammadi:
The agreements support the implementation success of the general framework of
the Environment, Health and Safety Management System (EHSMS) in the education sector to enhance the legislative and supervisory role
of the Ministry.
On
the sidelines of the “BETT” Show dedicated to education technology, held
recently in London, the UAE's Ministry of Education (MoE) signed three international
strategic agreements (MoUs) with the
most prestigious and internationally recognized institutions that grant occupational
accreditation, qualification and membership in the fields of environment and
occupational safety and health; i.e. the British Safety Council, the Chartered
Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH), and the National
Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH).
These
MoUs contribute to formalizing, documenting and strengthening the existing
partnerships between the UAE Ministry of Education and these international
institutions over the past two years, aimed at achieving excellence in
education, training, national capacity building and occupational development of
the UAE employees and students, as well as supporting the successful
implementation of the general framework of the EHSMS, launched in September 2016,
to be adhered to by educational institutions in the UAE.
The
agreements were signed by H.E. Eng. Abdulrahman Al-Hammadi, MOE Undersecretary
for Supervision and Support Services, in the presence of Eng. Hamdan Al-Saadi,
Director of Environment, Health and Safety Directorate; Mr.
Khalid Al Mulla, Director of the Control and
Quality Department for public education institutions, and many
Emirati students studying abroad – to keep them updated with the latest in
education and to enhance their pioneering role in the future as leaders of, and
contributors to, sustainable development in the UAE.
H.E.
Eng. Al-Hammadi stressed that the Ministry of Education is working to
strengthen strategic partnerships with the world's best expertise houses in the field of
education and other fields aimed at achieving optimal educational environment.
He added that these agreements will contribute to accomplishing excellence in
education, training, skills building and occupational development of our
students and employees in the education sector and ensure best educational
practices dedicated to high quality education.
He
added: "We seek to acquire best global practices and to support the implementation
success of the general framework of Occupational Environment, Health &
Safty Management System in the education sector, which was launched at the UAE
level in September 2016 to strengthen the legislative and supervisory role of
the Ministry of Education in all educational institutions in the country".
Eng.
Hamdan Al-Saadi, Director of Environment, Health and Safety Directorate
at the Ministry
of Education, stressed that such partnership with these institutions will also contribute
in the implementation of the Occupational Environment, Health & Safty
Management System in the education sector and ensure its compatibility with
various educational institutions in the UAE as we will witness this year many
initiatives launched by the MoE in this field, with the participation of
schools from different regions of the country.
